Fête du gâteau basque

Cambo-les-Bains is a privileged tourist destination thanks to the quality of its thermal waters at only 30Km from the camping at Bidart. It is also known for its Villa Arnaga, where Edmond Rostand lived. But it is also the cradle of the Basque cake, a round, golden and soft pastry, which can be found at the table on Sundays in all Basque families. This year, the event will be held on Saturday, October 6 and Sunday, October 7. The weekend will be very full; on the program: walks and gourmet discoveries, concerts, competitions, dance ... There will be accommodation including catering options that will be offered to visitors.

An opportunity to buy Basque products

The Basque cake festival allows farmers, butchers, pastry cooks, farmers and other craftsmen to offer their products, especially those with a label. 120 exhibitors will come to fill and brighten up the displays; each visitor is invited to discover the quality of local products and will then be able to purchase them. Tastings are also on the program; one will be able to go to the good tables, in the workshops, in a restaurant to taste typical Basque dishes and of course, the emblematic Basque cake!
